What is — På 123?

På 123, 1-2-3… is an annual, classical minifestival which offers an in-depth exploration of one composer over three days, in an intimate setting. The musicians and performing artists are of international calibre, chosen from different aspects of the cultural sector and from different age-groups. An inclusive, inspiring and heart-warming weekend!

We start on Friday night with a classical chamber music concert where all the festival artists are presented. Then the weekend moves from event to event, with a much-needed breathing space every afternoon to recharge. Each year we choose one composer, and carefully find repertoire, stories, ideas, and texts to weave into a festival programme. We hope that everyone will leave our festival with a deeper knowledge of both the person and their music, while having been part of a journey together with the performers and the rest of the audience in a very special setting.

We include children and teenagers on our journey of exploration. The Engegård Quartet has close contact with the neighbourhood orchestra Nordberg String Orchestra, and several exciting young talents in Oslo and beyond. As Nynorskens hus is the festival’s home, the groups and creativity inspired within their walls spill over into our festival weekend, bringing dance and theatre groups onto our stage. The multicultural idealism in Nynorskens hus opens up for meaningful exploration into the multicultural lives of composers and their environments.

Nynorskens hus is right in the centre of Oslo, and is part of a complex which includes both Hotell Bondeheimen and the restaurant Kaffistova. Festival Pass holders get a 10% discount at Kaffistova, a top-class true Norwegian institutions.
